Awesome Live Videos: Type O Negative, Live Stockholm 1994

What can we say about  Type O Negative ? Their unique flavor of Gothic/Doom Metal made them one of the biggest bands in metal for many years and they will always be missed. They mixed doomy vibes, gothic melodies, synths, organs and the awesomeness of their riffs and their heavy sound like nobody and they will be always  missed, specially their bass player and leader of the band, Peter Steele. There aren't many voices like his in the history of, not just metal, but rock music. This month, April 2020, the year of the corona, is the 10th anniversary of Peter passing away. We cannot go out so what better way to celebrate his life and his art that watching a cool as fuck performance:  Type O Negative live in Stockholm, 1994 . Great sound quality, cheers to whoever uploaded this to youtube!

My addiction of the week: Go Out Swinging by MOONS

Gimme Radio is one of the best things in the world in the last few years, specially right now with this coronashite going around and messing with our lives. I was lucky I saw the link in a random metal website a couple of years ago and I'm hooked to it since then. 24 hours of the music I love, and the real deal, the real shit. This is not just a radio where you can listen to the 'commercial' or 'popular' metal songs, this is an amazing community where you can listen from the last huge release by Metallica till some of the more raw, brutal and weird extreme metal ever recorded... and everything in the middle, which is pretty much all metal in the fecking world. Thanks to this platform I got to listen to so many bands that probably I would never had manage to listen otherwise, and my addiction of the week is one of this bands: Moons. Moons , hailing from Pennsylvania, catched my attention since the first riff I heard. After listening to their song AA/Jo...

Spotify Playlist III: Celebrating the death of Christ

I live in a place where a lot of the people are lunatic Jesus followers. In Easter (Semana Santa here) they spend the whole week doing parades with real size dolls of Jesus and his mom, some of them are hundreds of years old and should be in museums but the church own the pieces and they let their followers to march with them all over the city. They collapse the city, you cannot go anywhere, you cannot drive, you cannot access to certain areas... It's trully awful, and all the time with that terrible 'Cofrade' music in the background and people yelling 'king' to Jesus and 'pretty' to Mary... Probably all that crap is one of the reasons why I got so much into metal being so young, still a wee boy, and why extreme metal really cautivated me when I was a teenager... And I'd been hooked to it since then. My preferences generally are death metal, brutal death and grindcore bands, not that many black metal bands got my attention. Generally I find thei...

Skullshitter is a FANTASTIC   name and their death metal / grindcore is really repulsive and brilliant at the same time. Is the kind of sound you are expecting from a band with that name. Yes, you are going to love it. Below, some links so you can enjoy the band during the lockdown. Mosh at home and don't lose your mind! Feral Laws by SkullShitter

Triguna: prog/tech/death excellency

Imagen
I got to listen to this band, Triguna from Chigago, thanks to a random twitter interaction. The curiousity made me check their bandcamp and hey, great surprise for me! I'm really enjoying their latest effort, the EP Candied Lemons , and I'm decided to go through the rest of their bandcamp because this guys are really good! Prog Death Metal at its best, very technical (really good musicians here), a bit of Deathcore in the mix (which I generally don't enjoy that much but this band adds it in the perfect proportion so in the global its a plus to the music instead of making it weak, which is what I found in many deathcore bands) and keeping always a window open for experimental sounds. Seriously, this is really good music and worth your time listening to it. And listen to the whole thing (don't be lazy it's just a 3 songs EP), because when the saxophone appears you're going to love it. It's very SAXY and METAL at the same time! Candied Lemons by ...
